As a lighting designer, I found it difficult to properly light artwork of private collectors where recessed or track mounted lighting wasn't deemed acceptable by owner or interior designer. 

 

I started FineArtLight in 1995 while working with a curator who found the traditional picture lights with exposed incandescant lights were literally baking the paint. The radiant heat of the lights being turned on and off over time would eventually fade the pigment and crack the varnish finish.

I graduated from Parsons School of Design and worked for 25 years at HoK in lighting design and computer animation. I live in St. Louis Missouri with my wife and while I'm not running FineArtLight, you can find me at the lake sailing and enjoying a Stella.
